Today, we're driving the energy transition with more than 30,000 of the brightest minds across 54 countries.Job DescriptionJob Overview:The Principal Hook Up Engineer monitors the project cycle and guides the team on writing down progress observations, performing diagnostic tests, creating instructional manuals and resolutions, and ensuring healthy and productive business relationships with clients. They also coordinate with the team to suggest adjustment plans and implement essential guidelines that would fit the market standards to attract potential clients for future profitability. The Principal Hook Up Engineer is responsible for interpreting internal or external business issues and recommending best practices. The Principal Hook Up Engineer may be responsible for leading functional teams or projects and is regarded as a specialist in Hook UpResponsibilitiesKey Tasks and Responsibilities:Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations during the hook-up & commissioning phase, following company policies and proceduresResponsible for conducting constructability reviews and maintain constructability logImplement previous recorded lessons learned on the project and maintain all Lessons Learned of the ProjectSupport and disseminate Engineering policies and Yard procedures, participate for any improvementsSupport Division Engineering for providing input to the bid and historical data from the projectsAttending/provide training and provide feedback/improvement as requiredHigh standard of safe working practice, quality and productivity as well as compliance with the code of business conductsEnsure the resource forecast & manpower loadings during scheduling and execution phaseReview project-specific training requirement and ensure complianceArrange the Constructability meetings with Engineering team & Fabrication teamGenerate and review technical documentation, including procedures, manuals, and reports, to capture lessons learned and best practices for future projectsMonitor and control project-related costs, schedule, and quality metrics during the hook-up & commissioning phase, implementing corrective actions as necessaryFoster effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, vendors, and third-party agenciesCoordinate and supervise the hook-up & commissioning team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to enhance their performance and professional growthConduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential project constraints, proposing innovative solutions and mitigation strategiesLead and oversee the hook-up & commissioning activities for major projects within the EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation) industry, ensuring their successful executionDevelop and implement comprehensive hook-up & commissioning plans, defining key milestones, deliverables, and resource requirementsCollaborate closely with project management and Fabrication teams to ensure seamless integration of hook-up & commissioning activities into the overall project timelineStay updated with advancements in hook-up & commissioning technologies, methodologies, and industry trends, integrating them into project execution strategiesPreparing project Close-out reportQualificationsEssential Qualifications and Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering)Proven experience of at least 12+ years in hook-up & commissioning activities within the EPCI industry, including significant exposure to offshore and onshore projectsStrong knowledge of industry standards, such as API, ISO, and ASME, and demonstrated ability to oversee compliance with relevant codes and regulationsExpertise in project management methodologies and software tools, ensuring efficient planning, scheduling, and resource optimizationExcellent leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing multidisciplinary teams and driving high-performance outcomesExceptional problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify and resolve complex technical issues during hook-up & commissioning operationsEffective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiencesDetail-oriented mindset, ensuring accuracy and quality in all deliverables, while adhering to project constraints and deadlinesStrong organizational
