The Performing Arts teacher will contribute to the holistic development of every student through the values<b>Always Learning, Caring, One Team, and Excellence</b>, while embracing the<b>IB learner attributes and NCfE vocational Principles.</b></p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><h3>Teaching and Learning</h3><ul><li>Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Performing Arts lessons aligned with the IB Philosophy and NCfE standards.</li><li>Foster creativity, confidence, and self-expression through engaging, inquiry-based experiences in drama, music, dance, and performance.</li><li>Differentiate teaching to support a range of abilities and learning styles, ensuring every student achieves their personal best.</li><li>Encourage student reflection, collaboration, and appreciation for the performing arts within and beyond the classroom.</li></ul><h3>Curriculum and Assessment</h3><ul><li>Contribute to the development and review of the Performing Arts curriculum to ensure alignment with PYP frameworks and NCfE vocational standards.</li><li>Design authentic, process-oriented assessment tasks that celebrate student creativity and track growth in skills, knowledge, and conceptual understanding.</li><li>Use a range of formative and summative assessment strategies in line with PYP practices.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of student achievement and contribute to reports, portfolios, and performances.</li></ul><h3>Collaboration and Community</h3><ul><li>Work collaboratively with Arts Team to integrate Performing Arts into units of inquiry and transdisciplinary learning.</li><li>Participate in academy events such as productions, assemblies, concerts, and community arts initiatives.</li><li>Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a culture of care and inclusivity.</li></ul><h3>Professional Growth</h3><ul><li>Demonstrate a commitment to<b>Always Learning</b>by engaging in ongoing professional development and reflective practice.</li><li>Stay informed about current trends in arts education, IB developments, and technology integration.</li><li>Contribute to a culture of Excellence by sharing ideas, mentoring peers, and striving for continuous improvement.</li></ul></div>#J-18808-Ljbffr
