We're interested in getting to know you and what you bring to the table!Role PurposeAs a Cost Manager specializing in post-contract services you will be responsible for managing the commercial and cost aspects of construction projects from contract award through to completion and final account settlement. You will develop advanced technical capabilities in contract administration variation management and commercial risk assessment while understanding the key drivers of project cost performance and value delivery. This role involves active participation in knowledge sharing initiatives and contributing to innovative post-contract service delivery methodologies.What this job involvesPost-Contract Commercial ManagementLead monthly payment assessments and valuations ensuring accurate measurement and certification of completed worksProvisional Sum managementManage variation orders from inception through to agreement including cost analysis change impact assessment and client negotiationConduct regular cost monitoring and forecasting producing detailed cost reports and commercial dashboards for project stakeholdersOversee contract administration duties including extension of time assessments compensation event evaluations and dispute resolution supportProject Financial PerformancePrepare comprehensive cash flow forecasts and monitor actual versus projected expenditureDevelop and maintain project cost databases for benchmarking and future estimating purposesClient and Stakeholder ManagementCollaborate with project management teams to integrate cost management with overall project delivery objectivesProfessional Development and InnovationDevelop expertise in industry-standard software including CostX Microsoft Project and advanced Excel applicationsDesired skills and experienceEssential RequirementsBachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying Construction Management or equivalent professional qualificationMinimum 2-3 years of post-contract cost management experience in construction or infrastructure projectsStrong understanding of standard forms of contract (JCT NEC FIDIC) and their commercial implicationsProven experience in variation management payment certification and final account settlementsTechnical CompetenciesAdvanced proficiency in cost management software (CostX preferred) and Microsoft Office suiteExperience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and digital measurement techniquesStrong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex commercial data and contract documentationUnderstanding of construction methods programming and project delivery processesProfessional AttributesExcellent communication and negotiation skills with demonstrated client-facing experienceStrong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlinesCollaborative approach with ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary project teamsCommitment to professional development and working toward chartered status (MRICS/MCIOB)What you can expect from usWe succeed together and believe the best inspire the best so we invest in support
