PLUMBING DRAFTSMAN

Job DescriptionJob Title : Plumbing DraftsmanLocation : SharjahDepartment : MEP / EngineeringReports To : MEP Engineer / Design Manager / Project ManagerJob Summary :The Plumbing Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate 2D and 3D drawings for all plumbing and drainage systems as per project specifications, local codes, and engineering standards. This role includes coordination with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, architectural) to ensure clash-free and efficient designs, suitable for construction and site execution.Key Responsibilities :Prepare detailed shop drawings for plumbing, drainage, water supply, and firefighting systems.Review and interpret project specifications, architectural and structural drawings to develop coordinated plumbing layouts.Create sections, isometrics, schematics, and detail drawings as required.Coordinate with MEP engineers, architects, and other draftsmen to resolve conflicts and ensure proper integration with other building services.Ensure compliance with relevant plumbing codes and standards (e.g., IPC, UPC, local authority requirements).Revise drawings based on site conditions, consultant comments, or design modifications.Maintain and update drawing logs and records for revision control.Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings for project handover.Support site team with technical drawings and provide clarification as needed.Qualifications :Diploma or ITI in Mechanical / Plumbing Drafting or a related field.3+ years of experience in MEP drafting with a strong focus on plumbing systems.Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D), Revit MEP, or other BIM software is an advantage.Familiar with plumbing codes, standard practices, and materials.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drawing preparation.Ability to read and interpret construction and design documents.Good organizational and communication skills.Preferred Skills (Optional) :Experience with Navisworks for clash detection.Familiarity with local authority submission requirements (e.g., Dubai Municipality, DEWA, etc. if relevant).Basic knowledge of HVAC and fire protection systems is a plus.Work Environment :Based in design office with occasional visits to construction sites.May be required to work extended hours to meet project deadlines.#J-18808-Ljbffr
