OverviewJob Title:Piping Foreman Offshore ShutdownLocation:Qatar (Offshore North Field, Ras Laffan, etc.)Industry:Oil & Gas (Shutdowns/Turnarounds)Employment Type:Contract (312 months, extendable)Rotation:42/42(for extended projects)Job Description:ThePiping Foremanleads offshore piping crews during shutdowns, ensuring safe and efficient execution of fabrication, installation, repairs, and hydrotesting of pipelines, valves, and supports.ResponsibilitiesShutdown Execution:Supervise pipefitters, welders, and riggers in tasks such as replacement of corroded pipelines, valves, and flanges; installation of new spools/modifications per P&IDs/isometrics; hydrotesting and leak checks; enforce PTW (Permit to Work), isolations (LOTO), and confined space procedures; conduct daily toolbox talks and safety audits (Qatar Energy/Shell standards); verify alignment, welding (WPS/PQR), and gasket installation per ASME B31.3/API 570; oversee NDT (RT/UT) and punch-list closure; liaise with shutdown managers, engineers, and other trades (scaffolding, insulation); report progress/roadblocks using SAP or client-specific systems; manage piping material inventories and ensure availability of rigging/alignment tools.Qualifications & ExperienceEducation:Diploma in Mechanical/Piping Engineering (or trade certification).Certifications:OSHA/NEBOSH(safety),CSWIP/BGAS(welding/inspection preferred).OPITO/IMOoffshore survival (BOSIET/HUET).8+ years in oil/gas piping, with3+ years offshore shutdowns.Familiarity withAramco, QP, or Shell shutdown proceduresis a plus.Reading isometrics/P&IDs, rigging plans, and stress analysis reports.Proficiency inflange managementand bolt-torquing procedures.Market Wage in Qatar (2025)Daily Rate:$350/day(varies by seniority and project urgency).Junior Foremen:$280/day(small contractors).Flight tickets (home country/Qatar), offshore medical insurance, and hardship allowances.Rotation & Work ConditionsTypical Rotation:42/42(longer projects).Work Hours:12-hour shifts (days/nights), 7 days/week during shutdown peak.Demand:High due toQatar's NFE (North Field Expansion)and maintenance shutdowns.
