OverviewTHE ROLEWe are expanding our team and have an exciting opportunity for a Shipbroker to join our Dubai office working across the Dry Physical Freight Desk. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a successful Broking background in Dry Cargo ship broking. You will be personable, tenacious and a natural networker, having a proactive approach to generating leads and securing new business.ResponsibilitiesPromote FIS as a company, providing market intelligence and analysis to clientsMaintain and enhance existing client relationships, making regular contact and tracking daily trading activitiesDrive revenue and develop and enhance client baseUnderstand the team’s business strategy and identify new business opportunities relating to trends, Dry Cargo markets and clientsUndertake market analysis, providing market insight and trade ideas to clientsResponsible for daily price discovery, dissemination and matchingCreate and write daily market reports as requiredIdentify and introduce new clients to the market and maintain professional relationshipsPerform any other reasonable duties the company may requireRisk and ComplianceSupport a risk and compliance aware culture and comply with FIS company policiesEnsure full awareness of and adhere to internal policies that relate to the role or any relevant other activitiesTrainingSeek regular feedback from Desk Head to ensure role requirements are metComplete any mandatory training required by the company and required deadlinesMaintain own Continued Professional Development (CPD)RequirementsKey Competencies / SkillsPossess knowledge of shipping industry; sound knowledge of Dry Cargo markets as well as technical aspects of broking – preferredDegree in Shipping, Maritime Studies or related degree - preferredStrong client focus; personable and engaging building relationships and networks wherever possible – essentialCommunicate effectively with clients and colleagues - essentialTenacious and thrives in a pressurised environment – essentialTeam orientated; works well with others and diverse groups / personalities – essentialExcellent attention to detail; strong analytical and numeracy skills – essentialExhibit professional and ethical conduct at all times, establishing and developing all business relationships (internal and external stakeholders) based on respect, integrity & dignity#J-18808-Ljbffr
