We are currently seeking an outstanding Phase Leader for Al Muna British Academy in Abu Dhabi to join in Academic Year 2026/2027.This is an exciting opportunity to join the highly successful Aldar family.Candidates must have a secure knowledge of teachingthe English National Curriculum. Potential candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of implementing effective strategies to raise standards and plug gaps in learning to ensure outstanding progress for all. They will be able to demonstrate leadership skills/experiences at a variety of levels and to be effective in working collaboratively in a team.Successful candidates will find themselves welcomed into a wonderful school family community, where staff are held in high regard by pupil, parents and school leadership alike.The successful candidates will be closely aligned with our core values and ethos and possess a genuine understanding and appreciation of the values of the region.ResponsibilitiesMain Duties:Develop and implement policies and practices for department which reflects the School’s vision, aims, commitment to high standards of achievement, and effective teaching and learning;Establish, monitor and evaluate short, medium and long term plans for the development of department;Use data effectively to identify students who are underachieving in department; create and implement plans of action to support those students;Analyse and interpret relevant school data, to inform policies and department/school SEF writing;Ensure that appropriate and relevant schemes of work are developed, in place, and regularly reviewed and evaluated, for all year groups and courses. These must include suitable provision for SEN/POD, G&T, and EAL students.Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity and progression in department for all students including those of high ability and those with special educational needs;Set expectations for staff in relation to standards of achievement and the quality of teaching and learning and behaviour;Evaluate the quality of teaching and learning of department and use this to identify effective practice and areas for improvement; take action to further improve the quality of teaching and learning;Performance manage team in accordance with school performance management policy;Efficient and effective deployment of staff and resources;Maintain efficient and effective control of the Department’s Resource and CapEx budgets;Effective use accommodation to create an effective and stimulating environment for teaching and learning in accordance with Learning Environment Policy;Any other duties as assigned by the SLT.QualificationsMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in the related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualificationMinimum ExperienceMinimum of 6-year teaching experience.Experience of the UK curriculumJob Specific Knowledge & SkillsCommitment to school’s vision and valuesPassion for education, teaching, and a belief in the potential of every studentCommitment to continuing professional developmentExcellent inter-personal/communication skills and organisation skillsKnowledge of current developments in educationKnowledge of child protection and safeguardingTeaching across ability range with proven successExperience of working in more than one International SchoolAbility to work under pressure, problem-solve, deal with challenging situations and be resilientWHAT WE OFFERAldar Academies are a family of world-class, child centred, and innovative schools based in the UAE.
