<div><h3>Job Summary</h3><p>The Specialist Physician shares responsibility with the Consultant Physician for delivering high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centered care within their division. The role involves diagnosing and treating complex conditions, managing patient care plans, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the supervision and training of junior medical staff.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li><b>Patient Care:</b>Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, take medical histories, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate personalized treatment plans for injuries, illnesses, and disorders within the specialty.</li><li><b>Treatment and Procedures:</b>Prescribe and administer appropriate medication, therapy, or other specialized medical care and perform necessary procedures/surgeries related to the specialty.</li><li><b>Collaboration and Consultation:</b>Liaise and consult with other medical specialists, departments, and support services to ensure holistic and integrated patient care.</li><li><b>Documentation:</b>Accurately document all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.</li><li><b>Quality Improvement and Research:</b>Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research activities to enhance patient safety and care standards.</li><li><b>Supervision and Education:</b>Provide instruction, guidance, and supervision to junior medical staff, residents, and students.</li><li><b>Communication:</b>Communicate clinical information to patients and their families in a timely and compassionate manner, obtaining informed consent for procedures as required.</li><li><b>Compliance:</b>Adhere to all hospital departmental and divisional policies, procedures, and DOH regulations, including occupational health and safety guidelines and infection control protocols.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications and Requirements</h3><ul><li><b>Education:</b>An MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized medical school.</li><li><b>Post-Graduate Training:</b>Completion of a structured clinical residency or fellowship program in the relevant specialization.</li><li><b>Experience:</b>A minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience post-specialization, depending on the DOH tier classification qualifications and specific hospital requirements.</li><li><b>Licensing:</b></li><li><b>DOH License:</b>A valid Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi license or an eligibility letter to practice in Abu Dhabi is highly preferred.</li><li><b>Valid Registration:</b>Must provide evidence of a current, valid license from the country of last or current practice.</li><li><b>Good Standing:</b>A current Certificate of Good from the relevant licensing authority.</li><li><b>Examinations:</b>Successful completion of the DOH licensing exam (may involve an oral assessment depending on the specialty).</li><li><b>Skills:</b>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous medical education (CME/CPD).</li><li><b>Language:</b>Fluency in English and Arabic is required, and competence in other languages is often a distinct asset.</li></ul></div>#J-18808-Ljbffr
