Path 2 Postdoctoral Associate - Center for Genomics and Systems Biology CGSB

The Center for Genomics and Systems Biology (CGSB) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications from individuals to be appointed as a Postdoctoral Associate. The position will be based at NYU Abu Dhabi and supervised by Dr. Dipesh Chaudhury. The successful applicant will use a combination of molecular and electrophysiological approaches to investigate how gene expression contributes to the rhythms in excitability and plasticity of circadian clock neurons in rodents and fruitflies.Applicants must have a PhD in Biology or Neuroscience and experience in molecular biology electrophysiology and animal handling as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.ResponsibilitiesHandle mice and perform behavioral experiments to measure stress and cognition.Measure locomotor activity in mice to determine diurnal and circadian rhythms.Measure electrical activity in cells taken from mices brains.Measure changes in gene expression in brain cells taken from mice.NYUAD offers a stimulating research environment a distinguished community of outstanding researchers and is enhanced by stateoftheart research facilities that are institutionally supported.
