Job DescriptionThe Pastry Chef is responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting a variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods in accordance with company standards, recipes, and food safety regulations. The role supports daily kitchen operations by ensuring consistent quality and efficient production of pastry and bakery items.Key ResponsibilitiesPastry and Bakery ProductionPrepare and bake pastries, cakes, desserts, bread, and other bakery products according to recipes and production plans.Ensure consistency in product quality, taste, and presentation.Perform daily mise en place and preparation of pastry ingredients.Ensure timely production to meet operational requirements.Food Quality and PresentationMaintain high standards of product quality and presentation.Ensure proper portion control and minimize wastage.Monitor baking processes and ensure correct temperatures and timing.Ensure proper storage and handling of pastry ingredients and finished products.Food Safety and Hygiene ComplianceEnsure compliance with HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards.Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of pastry work area and equipment.Follow proper food handling, labeling, and storage procedures.Ensure proper stock rotation using FIFO principles.Operational SupportAssist Sous Chef and Executive Chef in pastry and bakery operations.Support overall kitchen operations when required.Assist in receiving and storing pastry and bakery supplies.Ensure proper use and maintenance of pastry equipment.Equipment and Work Area MaintenanceMaintain cleanliness and organization of pastry section.Ensure proper use and care of ovens, mixers, and baking equipment.Report equipment issues or maintenance requirements to supervisors.Job RequirementsMinimum RequirementsDiploma or Certification in Pastry Arts, Baking, Culinary Arts, or related field.Preferred CertificationsHACCP CertificationFood Safety Level 2 CertificationProfessional Pastry or Baking Certification from a recognized institutionVocational training in pastry and bakery (advantage)ExperienceMinimum 2–4 years of experience in pastry, bakery, or dessert preparation.Experience in catering, hospitality, bakery, or institutional kitchen preferred.Skills And CompetenciesGood pastry and baking skillsBasic knowledge of pastry production and techniquesAttention to detail and product qualityAbility to follow recipes and production plansAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentTechnical SkillsKnowledge of pastry and baking techniquesBasic knowledge of HACCP and food safety standardsKnowledge of pastry equipment and toolsBasic inventory and stock handling knowledgeOther RequirementsAbility to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidaysPhysically fit and able to stand for long periodsAbility to work in hot kitchen environmentsUAE experience preferredAbility to work independently and as part of a team#J-18808-Ljbffr
