Job Description As an Analyst in the Data team at Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), your role will involve closely working with trading desks, valuation oversight groups, and technology to gain a solid understanding of various financial products, with a focus on fixed income and equity products. You will have the opportunity to monitor and validate key data attributes that contribute to important investing decisions within GSAM. Your responsibilities will include tracking benchmark requirements of new funds and accounts, liaising with external index providers, setting up benchmarks in internal systems, and ensuring the correctness of benchmark data through systemic or manual checks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Closely monitor and validate key data attributes that contribute to important GSAM investing decisions
- Track benchmark requirements of new funds, institutional accounts, PWM accounts, etc by liaising with Portfolio Management, Client Relationship Management & Product Development teams
- Liaise with Portfolio Managers on new indices, whether sourced externally or constructed internally
- Stay updated on index industry developments, analyze their impact, and provide regular updates to AM
- Validate benchmark specifications in contracts for new indices with index providers
- Set up benchmarks in internal systems for portfolio management, trading, compliance, client reporting, etc
- Apply checks to ensure correctness of benchmark data to downstream systems
- Manually calculate benchmarks to validate the accuracy of custom benchmarks
- Support user queries/projects and conduct in-depth index analysis for various stakeholders globally
Qualifications Required:
- Graduation/ Post Graduation
- 1-2 years of experience in financial services, preferably asset management
- Knowledge of product data, reconciliation, and accounting functions
- Securities Reference Data and Pricing knowledge
- Proven track record of contributing in a dynamic team environment
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications - Excel, Word, PowerPoint
