About the roleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Oil Broker with proven and demonstrable experience in a broking environment. This is a mid-level experience role for a dynamic individual who has a passion for the financial markets. You will be personable, tenacious and a natural networker, having a proactive approach to generating leads and securing new business.In addition, you will be well‑organised, highly analytical and thrive in a fast-moving environment with aflat management structure. You are able to work under your own initiative and be an excellent team player, able to adapt and fit in with close-knit desk teams.Key responsibilitiesPromote FIS as a company; providing market intelligence and analysis to clientsArrange trades via voice broking on and behalf of clients for execution at relevant exchangeEnsure all trades are executed on a non‑advice / execution only basisReconcile and enter trades in Trade Manager and/or relevant exchange as necessaryMaintain and enhance existing client relationships, making regular contact and tracking daily trading activitiesProactively solicit feedback from industry participants via trade calls, surveys, industry events, trade shows and conferencesProduce a daily/weekly update of market prices, market direction for international desksOn‑board new clients following correct Compliance and Operations proceduresRegularly assess client needs and financial conditions to identify internal cross‑selling opportunitiesUnderstand the desk’s business strategy; identify and seize new business opportunities relating to trends, future markets, products and clientsPerform any other reasonable duties the company may requireRisk related responsibilitiesUnderstand regulation within the evolving regulatory landscapeSupport a risk and compliance aware culture and comply with FIS company policiesExercise judgement and act with integrity, due care, skill and diligence and co‑operate with the regulators and exchangesEnsure full awareness of and adhere to internal policies that relate to the role or any relevant other activitiesObserve standards of market conduct and ensure understanding and adherence to all regulatory, exchange or clearing house requirements applicable to roleTrainingSeek regular feedback from Desk Head to ensure role requirements are metComplete any mandatory training required by the company and required deadlinesMaintain own Continued Professional Development (CPD)RequirementsDemonstrate experience in execution brokerage in related products covering commercial clients (financial markets or the physical markets) - essentialDeep understanding of price risk management - essentialRobust quantitative, presentation, and decision‑making capabilitiesEntrepreneurial mindset / self‑motivatedStrong client focus; personable and engaging building relationships and networks wherever possibleDegree in Economics or related degree – preferredCommunicate effectively with clients and colleagues - essentialTenacious and thrives in a pressurised environment – essentialTeam orientated; works well with others and diverse groups / personalities – essentialExcellent attention to detail; strong analytical and numeracy skills – essentialGood IT Systems experience – Excel - essentialIf you have the relevant Broker career experience skill sets and would like to know more about the above opportunity, then please apply now.
