OverviewJob Title: Tax AccountantEmployment Type: Full TimeJob Type: PermanentIndustry: Manufacturing – Cigarette / TobaccoLocation: Dubai (JAFZA)Duration: Long TermSalary: AED 4,000 (+/-) + Standard UAE BenefitsJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant / Tax Consultant with strong hands-on experience in UAE Tax Legislation, specifically within JAFZA Free Zone and the Cigarette/Tobacco Manufacturing Industry. The ideal candidate must have in-depth practical knowledge of Corporate Tax, VAT, and Excise Tax, including compliance, reporting, and advisory in a regulated industrial environment.Key ResponsibilitiesTax Compliance & Reporting:Prepare, review, and file Corporate Tax, VAT, and Excise Tax returns in accordance with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations.Manage Excise Tax compliance specific to tobacco products, including product registration, excise declarations, and stock movement tracking.Ensure compliance with JAFZA Free Zone tax regulations and maintain eligibility for applicable tax benefits.Prepare and submit quarterly and annual tax reports accurately and on time.Estimate, track, and reconcile tax liabilities and payments.Tax Advisory & Strategy:Identify tax-saving opportunities and recommend tax-efficient strategies aligned with business and regulatory requirementsPrepare tax research memos, technical opinions, and advisory reports related to Corporate Tax, VAT, and Excise TaxMonitor changes in UAE tax laws, FTA guidelines, and JAFZA regulations and assess their impact on business operationsSupport management with tax planning initiatives related to manufacturing, imports/exports, and excise-controlled goodsDocumentation & Coordination:Maintain and organize the company’s tax database, records, and supporting documentation.Prepare and review necessary paperwork for tax registrations, deregistration, audits, and refunds.Liaise with internal and external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.Attend meetings with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) and other relevant authorities on tax-related matters.Operational Oversight:Supervise day-to-day tax-related activities and ensure adherence to internal Tax Policies and Guidelines.Monitor progress and deliverables, identify risks, escalate issues when required, and implement process improvements.Share relevant tax and financial data with the accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate reporting.Establish and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery.Skills and Attributes for SuccessStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Excellent command of English.Ability to work independently in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.QualificationsProfessionally qualified in Accounting or Tax.CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.Experience RequirementsMinimum 2 years of experience in Tax Consulting/Tax Advisory.Very strong practical knowledge of UAE Corporate Tax, VAT, and Excise Tax.Proven experience in a large-scale industrial or manufacturing company, preferably within the cigarette/tobacco sectorHands-on experience with JAFZA Free Zone operations, including compliance and regulatory requirements related to excise-controlled goods.#J-18808-Ljbffr
