Job Description

<div><h3>Managerial Task</h3><ul><li>Supports, implements, and follows all hospital, departmental and divisional initiatives, policies and procedures</li><li>Helps lead and implement the organization's performance management system, including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes</li><li>Participates in the organization’s performance management system, including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes</li><li>Assists with scheduling and supports the Division Chief in ensuring that adequate medical coverage is provided within the Division at all times</li><li>Attends Divisional meetings as required</li><li>Assists the Division Chief in the recruitment of new medical staff when appropriate</li><li>Assumes other administrative or clinical duties as requested by the Division Chief</li></ul><h3>Technical Task</h3><ul><li>Diagnoses and treats patients according to established standards of best practice for the post holder’s specialty. The Consultant Physician’s clinical duties include but are not limited to the following:</li><li>Oversees the clinical activities of the junior medical staff and is assumes responsibility for the care they provide</li><li>Complies with all established hospital polices regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, surgical procedures, discharge protocols, outpatient and follow up practices</li><li>Practices appropriate utilization of the organization’s resources</li><li>Leads ward round; reassesses both inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis, in line with established best practice</li><li>Accurately documents all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion in accordance with established procedures</li><li>Regularly reviews results of all investigations and modifies treatment as required</li><li>Liaises with other medical specialties and support services for additional input as required</li><li>Actively participates in multi-disciplinary meetings to help plan effective, safe and holistic care for individual patients</li><li>Ensures preparation of patients for all procedures including obtaining informed consent</li><li>Accepts clinically appropriate referrals from the Emergency Department, primary care, other departments, specialty clinics, walk in patients, and patients referred from other hospitals</li></ul><h3>SEHA Compliance</h3><ul><li>Complying consistently with facility policies, procedures and practices and ensuring alignment with SEHA facilities policies.</li><li>Completing and maintaining regulatory requirements including: licensure and certification and other mandatory training within established time frame</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><h3>SEHA Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Qualification from Tier 1</li><li>Qualification from Tier 2</li><li>Current national license or equivalent</li><li>Certified proof of yearly CME</li></ul><h3>Additional Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) and specialization in Neurology</li><li>American Board, CCT UK, Australian Board, any Western Board, Fellowship or additional certification in Neurology</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of post-specialization experience in Neurology</li><li>Valid DOH (Department of Health - Abu Dhabi) License or eligibility.</li><li>Experience working within JCI-accredited hospitals is preferred.</li></ul></div>#J-18808-Ljbffr
