The Music Mission team owns Spotify’s end to end proposition for music creators and the experiences they create for fans. The team is dedicated to building tools and services to enable creation, promotion, expression, and monetization at scale.In Spotify, the Editorial team shapes how millions of listeners discover and connect with music every day. In this role, you’ll help define Spotify’s editorial strategy for Türkiye—bringing together deep cultural knowledge and data-informed programming to create playlists and experiences that feel timely, relevant, and distinctly local.Currently the team is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable music professional to join our team in Dubai. If you have an expert ear for music, a deep understanding of the Turkish culture and music ecosystem, and a strong ability to blend data-driven insights with cultural expertise, we’d love to hear from you.In this role, you’ll curate and shape the music listening experience, programming playlists across moods, moments, and genres. You’ll play a key role in developing our editorial strategy for Türkiye while keeping a pulse on emerging trends, rising artists, and cultural moments. Your work will directly impact how audiences engage with music on Spotify.What You'll DoCurate and maintain Spotify editorial playlists, including hits, genre-specific, and mood/activity playlistsDevelop and co-create editorial strategies for TürkiyeAnalyze platform data to refine and improve playlist programming and overall editorial performanceStay deeply connected to the Turkish music landscape, identifying new talent and emerging trendsTranslate music and cultural knowledge into engaging, relevant content for Spotify usersLead and contribute to cross-functional projects, ensuring editorial decisions align with broader business and creative objectivesIdentify and share cultural trends, news, and insights with internal teams to keep Spotify at the forefront of regional music movementsListen across a diverse range of genres, identifying trends and programming opportunitiesUse cultural expertise to innovate and expand Spotify’s programming efforts and local initiativesMaintain an authentic and unbiased editorial voice to craft an outstanding user experienceWho You AreYou have at least 5 to 7 years of experience in music programming/curation, journalism, or a culture-focused roleProven experience developing editorial or curation strategiesDeeply passionate about both current and historical music trends in TürkiyeA comprehensive understanding of the Turkish music ecosystem, from mainstream to underground movementsAn instinctive sense of what music fits different moments, moods, and cultural contextsStrong writing skills with the ability to translate music and cultural insights into engaging contentHighly organized with strong project management skillsA great communicator who thrives in cross-functional collaborationComfortable leveraging data to inform decision-makingA dedicated Spotify user and fan, with an intuitive grasp of the platformAdaptable, proactive, and energized by fast-changing environmentsFluent in both Turkish and English, with excellent written and spoken proficiencyA growth mindset and a collaborative spiritFriendly, humble, and warm — we're a tight-knit team that values great energy!Where You'll BeThis role is based in Dubai, UAEWe offer you the flexibility to work where you work best!
