Job Description
The Museum Exhibition & Planning Officer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of exhibitions from concept to deinstallation. This role ensures that exhibitions are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with curatorial vision, institutional standards, and visitor experience goals.Key ResponsibilitiesExhibition Planning & CoordinationAssist in developing exhibition plans, schedules, and production timelines.Coordinate with curators, designers, conservators, and registrars to ensure smooth project delivery.Track milestones, dependencies, and critical paths for multiple exhibitions simultaneously.Support the preparation of exhibition briefs and project documentation.Project ManagementMaintain detailed project schedules and monitor progress against deadlines.Coordinate internal and external stakeholders including contractors, lenders, and artists.Organize and document project meetings, action logs, and status reports.Identify risks and elevate issues impacting timelines or budgets.Assist in planning artwork transport, handling, and installation requirements.Coordinate with technical teams on gallery preparation, display cases, lighting, and AV needs.Support installation and deinstallation activities on‑site.Ensure compliance with museum standards for handling and display of artworks.Budget & AdministrationSupport budget tracking, procurement processes, and vendor coordination.Process invoices, contracts, and purchase orders related to exhibitions.Maintain accurate records of exhibition expenses and documentation.Liaise with Marketing & Communications for exhibition launches and interpretation materials.Coordinate with Learning & Public Programs teams for educational content integration.Support digital and interactive components in collaboration with relevant departments.Documentation & ReportingMaintain comprehensive exhibition files including schedules, contracts, and reports.Prepare internal reports on project status, timelines, and outcomes.Contribute to post‑exhibition evaluations and lessons learned.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Museum Studies, Art History, Arts Management, or related field.3–5 years of experience in exhibition coordination, museum operations, or project management.Experience working in museums, galleries, or cultural institutions preferred.Strong project management and organizational skills.Excellent coordination and stakeholder management abilities.Attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Knowledge of exhibition production processes and museum standards.Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, or similar).Strong communication skills in English & Arabic.#J-18808-Ljbffr
