Middle School / High School Mathematics TeacherACS International School Doha (ACS Doha)Position OverviewACS Doha is seeking a dynamic and student‑centered Mathematics Teacher to join our Middle School and High School team. This role requires a teacher who can deliver high‑quality, standards‑based instruction aligned with both American and IB frameworks, while fostering a classroom environment where students feel challenged, supported, and known.Our teachers are expected to contribute to a shared understanding of excellent teaching and learning—grounded in strong relationships, clear instructional design, responsive teaching, and continuous reflection.We provide training for those new to IB!Key Responsibilities1. Planning & Preparation for LearningDesign and deliver standards‑aligned units and lessons using AERO/Common Core and IB frameworks (MYP/DP where applicable)Develop clear learning objectives, success criteria, and aligned assessmentsPlan engaging units with big ideas, essential questions, and real‑world applicationAnticipate student misconceptions and design strategies to address themDifferentiated instruction to meet a wide range of learners, including EAL and learning support studentsUse a variety of instructional materials and technology (including Toddle) to enhance learning2. Classroom Environment & ManagementEstablish a structured, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture where all students feel they belongSet and consistently reinforce high expectations for behavior and academic effortBuild strong relationships with students based on trust, fairness, and consistencyImplement clear routines and procedures that maximize learning timePromote student independence, responsibility, and self‑discipline3. Delivery of InstructionDeliver clear, engaging, and well‑structured lessons that promote deep mathematical understandingUse a variety of instructional strategies, including direct instruction, inquiry, and problem‑based learningActively engage students in thinking, discussion, and application of mathematical conceptsFoster a growth mindset and resilience in learnersAdapt instruction in real time based on student understanding and needsConnect mathematical concepts to real‑world contexts and student experiences4. Assessment, Feedback & Follow‑UpUse a range of formative and summative assessments to monitor student progressProvide timely, specific, and actionable feedback to studentsUse data to inform instruction and provide targeted support or extensionSupport students in setting goals, reflecting on progress, and improving their workEnsure students who require additional support are identified and supported appropriatelyCollaborate with colleagues to analyze assessment data and refine practice5. Family & Community EngagementMaintain regular, proactive communication with parents through Toddle and other school platformsClearly communicate learning expectations, progress, and areas for growthBuild positive relationships with families from diverse cultural backgroundsRespond promptly and professionally to parent inquiries and concernsSupport school events, conferences, and community engagement opportunities6.
