Mechanical Test House Technician

OverviewSummary: Responsible for mechanical, physical, and metallurgical testing of steel samples to ensure compliance with product specifications, standards, and customer requirements. Works under QC Supervisor but may report directly to Head of QC in their absence. Ensures accurate test results, proper reporting, and adherence to safety and quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform and record mechanical tests on steel samples from each cast (tensile, bend, yield, etc.).Monitor and report abnormalities or deviations to QC/mill teams.Store test results in SAP for certification purposes.Conduct non-routine tests and sample preservation for inspection.Supervise lab assistants and support training of new staff.Perform preventive maintenance on testing equipment.Follow ISO 17025 and Emirates Steel QS/ASME standards.Ensure adherence to HSE policies and safe working practices.Prepare and issue reports, failure analysis, and corrective action recommendations.RequirementsEducation:Diploma in Mechanical/Metallurgy OR Graduate in ScienceExperience:2–5 years in mechanical and physical testing of rolled steel products (rebars, wire rods, sections)Previous experience in rolling mill laboratories is advantageousSkills & Competencies:Strong measurement and testing interpretation skillsKnowledge of laboratory instruments and preventive maintenanceReport writing and observation skillsComputer literacy, especially SAPFamiliarity with ISO 17025 standardsTeamwork, training, and supervision capabilitie#J-18808-Ljbffr
