To keep our vessels operational as much as possible, we need technically minded engineers like you.Your RoleAs a Mechanical Engineer you will support our Asset Management Team in maintaining and optimizing mechanical asset data for dredging and offshore vessels + equipment. This office-based role focuses on main drive systems, including diesel engines, gearboxes, and propulsion units, with a strong emphasis on understanding how these systems work and identifying their components.Your tasks and responsibilitiesMaintain and analyze mechanical asset records (e.g. engines, gearboxes, thrusters, shaft lines)Understand the working principles of diesel engines, gearboxes and propulsion systemsIdentify and manage mechanical components and spare parts used in these main drive systemsReview technical documentation and ensure compliance with maritime standards + JDN spare parts requirement.Coordinate with vessel crews, TD, and suppliers to validate mechanical asset dataManage mechanical article master data in the maintenance system (AmosW)Work confidently with MS Office tools, especially ExcelRequirementsDegree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent3+ years of experience in maritime, offshore or mechanical systemsStrong knowledge of diesel engines, gearboxes, and propulsion systemsAbility to interpret technical drawings and identify its mechanical componentsFluent in EnglishProficient in MS Excel and asset management systems (e.g. AmosW, Maximo, SAP PM)What We OfferA permanent training path via our JDN AcademyThe opportunity to practice sports at work via our FIT programAn open-ended permanent contractCompetitive wagesWorking at Jan De Nul means helping to find solutions to some of the biggest challenges of our time: from energy transition to rising sea levels to smart mobility.
