Job Description As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Egis, your role will involve managing and overseeing the Execution Design of the Cargo Lift in B11 by TB02. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the closure of open comments from previous phases and supporting the supervision of other mechanical design activities linked to lifts, cranes, hoists, corbels, rails, supports, and other handling equipment. Additionally, you will provide design support as needed and prepare or update specifications for various mechanical components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responding to queries from TB02, TB21, and TB20 regarding Cargo Lift design, Tokamak cranes, Tokamak doors, and handling equipment in other buildings.
- Reviewing and commenting on execution design documents, following up on the execution design process, and overseeing subsequent site activities.
- Liaising with F4E and IO on technical issues related to handling equipment.
- Collaborating with other ENGAGE staff involved in the design review, such as Project Coordinators, electrical engineers, I&C engineers, fire engineers, and nuclear safety experts.
- Providing technical support to the ENGAGE construction team during installation and test & commissioning stages.
Qualifications:
- Degree in mechanical engineering
Experience:
- 5 years of experience in the design of mechanical handling systems
- Experience in the design of lifting systems in a nuclear project
- Lifting and Supporting Equipment Design and Substantiation
- Design of Cranes, including specifications for classification, stress calculations, and design criteria for structures
- Mechanical Handling Equipment Analysis and Assessment
Language Requirement:
- Fluent in English (C1 level)
In addition to the qualifications and responsibilities outlined above, Egis values good communication skills, the ability to liaise with engineers in other disciplines, and a strong conventional and nuclear safety culture. You should be able to communicate clearly verbally and in written form with clients and contractors, assess technical documentation provided by Contractors/Manufacturers, and manage your workload effectively within challenging timescales. Fluency in Technical English is also beneficial for this role.
