Material Inspector

Inspect, verify, and document all construction materials delivered to the siteEnsure materials comply with approved specifications, standards, and project requirementsMonitor material handling, storage, and preservation on-site to prevent damage or deteriorationReview material submittals, certificates, and test reports submitted by contractorsConduct sampling and testing of materials (e.g., concrete, asphalt, aggregates, steel) in coordination with the laboratoryReport non-compliance or defective materials and coordinate corrective actions with contractorsMaintain an organized record of inspections, approvals, and material certificatesEnsure proper labeling, tagging, and tracking of materials used in the projectCoordinate with design, planning, and site teams to resolve material-related issuesSupport quality assurance and control procedures for the projectPrepare and submit daily/weekly material inspection reports to PMC managementParticipate in client inspections and audits regarding material complianceVerify contractors follow proper testing, mixing, and handling proceduresEnsure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards during material handlingAssist in preparation of as-built material documentation for project closeoutProvide guidance to junior material inspectors and site staffLiaise with vendors and suppliers for technical clarifications on materialsReview and verify calibration and certification of testing equipmentBachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related fieldMinimum 7 years of experience as a Material Inspector, preferably on road and infrastructure projectsPrior experience with PMC, consultancy, or large-scale construction projects is highly preferredStrong knowledge of construction materials, standards, and testing proceduresFamiliarity with project specifications, QA/QC procedures, and reporting requirementsExcellent report writing, documentation, and communication skillsAbility to work independently on-site and in a multi-disciplinary team#J-18808-Ljbffr
