Material Engineer

The Material Engineer is responsible for the selection, testing, inspection, and approval of construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and quality requirements. The role supports engineering and site teams by ensuring materials used meet technical, safety, and durability standards throughout the project lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesReview, evaluate, and approve material submittals in line with project specifications and standards.Conduct material inspections, testing, and quality checks at site, plant, or laboratory.Coordinate with QA/QC, consultants, suppliers, and site teams for material approvals and compliance.Ensure materials conform to relevant international standards (ASTM, BS, AASHTO, ISO, etc.).Monitor storage, handling, and usage of materials to prevent damage or quality issues.Investigate material-related non-conformances and support corrective and preventive actions.Maintain records of material approvals, test reports, and inspection documentation.Support audits, inspections, and technical reviews related to materials engineering.RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Material Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.Minimum 3–7 years of experience as a Material Engineer in construction or infrastructure projects.Strong knowledge of construction materials (concrete, asphalt, steel, aggregates, soils, etc.).Hands-on experience with material testing, inspection, and quality assurance processes.Familiarity with international material standards and project specifications.Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and test results.Strong coordination, reporting, and documentation skills.Good communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.#J-18808-Ljbffr
