Material Engineer

We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Material Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates. As a Material Engineer you will play a crucial role in overseeing the selection testing and quality control of materials used in our infrastructure projects. Your analytical skills and expertise will ensure that all materials meet required specifications and standards contributing to the success and safety of our construction endeavors.Assist in selecting and procuring materials based on project requirements specifications and industry standardsConduct and oversee tests on construction materials to ensure compliance with quality standards and project specificationsMonitor material performance throughout the construction process and recommend adjustments or substitutions as necessaryMaintain comprehensive records of material testing inspections and approvals to ensure full traceability and complianceCollaborate with project managers contractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and availability of materialsConduct regular site inspections to verify proper storage handling and installation of materialsIdentify and mitigate potential risks related to materials such as delays in delivery or non-compliance with quality standardsEnsure material selection and use comply with environmental regulations and project sustainability goalsProvide training to site engineers and construction teams on material handling and quality control measuresStay up-to-date with the latest developments in material technologies and incorporate best practices into projectsQualifications : Bachelors degree in Materials Engineering Materials Science or a related fieldProfessional engineering certification (e.g. PE) preferredProven experience in material engineering for infrastructure works projectsStrong knowledge of construction materials including aggregates concrete asphalt and metalsExpertise in material testing quality control and performance monitoringProficiency in material analysis software and documentation toolsFamiliarity with industry standards local building codes and regulations in the UAEExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills in English both written and verbalDetail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accurate records and reportsAbility to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholdersInnovative mindset to propose cost-effective and sustainable material solutionsKnowledge of environmental compliance and sustainability practices in constructionWillingness to work on-site and conduct field inspections as neededAdditional Information : About AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
