Manager - Electrical Primary Design (Substations) - KSA

Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Primary Design Engineer for HV/EHV GIS & AIS substation projects. The role involves handling pre-bid and detailed engineering, including layouts, equipment sizing, grounding, busbar design, and coordination with cross-functional teams. Gulf experience is mandatory.RequirementsPre-Bid EngineeringReview tender documents, technical specifications, and project requirementsPrepare conceptual primary layouts, GA drawings, and SLDsDevelop preliminary BOQs, equipment sizing, and quantity take-offsPropose optimized layouts considering cost, space, safety, and constructabilityCoordinate with estimation and proposal teamsInterface with OEMs/vendors for technical data and inputsIdentify technical risks, deviations, and value-engineering opportunitiesSupport technical clarifications and bid evaluationsDetailed Engineering / ExecutionPrepare and review:General Arrangement (GA) & layout drawingsEquipment layout plans and sectional viewsCable routing and earthing layoutsBusbar calculations and drawingsHV equipment interconnection detailsPerform equipment sizing and selection:Circuit breakers, isolators, CTs, PTs, surge arresters, etc.Conduct electrical and mechanical clearance studiesDevelop and review substation grounding (earthing) designEnsure compliance with IEC, IEEE, IS, CBIP and client standardsCoordinate with secondary design, civil, and protection teamsParticipate in design reviews and client/consultant meetingsQualificationsBE / B.Tech or ME / M.Tech in Electrical EngineeringExperience7-10 years in Electrical Primary DesignStrong experience in GIS & AIS substations (HV/EHV up to 380kV)Gulf experience mandatorySaudi project experience preferred#J-18808-Ljbffr
