OverviewJob Title: Librarian (Indian)We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Indian Librarian to join our team at a prestigious library in Sharjah, UAE. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection, providing reference services and assisting library users with research needs.ResponsibilitiesOversee the organization and maintenance of the library's collection, ensuring all materials are properly cataloged and shelved.Develop and implement library programs and services to meet the needs of diverse users.Provide reference and research assistance to library users, including helping them navigate online databases and resources.Promote the use of the library through outreach activities such as book clubs, workshops, and events.Train and supervise library staff on proper procedures for circulation services, reference assistance, and collection management.Stay updated on current trends in librarianship and make recommendations for new resources or technologies to enhance library services.Collaborate with faculty to support their teaching and research needs by providing instruction sessions or creating subject-specific research guides.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.Minimum of 2 years experience working as a Librarian in an academic or public library setting.Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.Must have experience with online databases, electronic resources, and other technologies commonly used in libraries.Demonstrated knowledge of cataloging standards (MARC) and classification systems (Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress).Experience with developing instructional materials or conducting information literacy sessions is preferred.RequirementsMust be an Indian national currently residing in Sharjah or willing to relocate.Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with diverse groups of people.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.Ability to adapt to changing technologies and work efficiently under pressure.Must have a valid biometric passport.Accommodation will not be provided.Application NoteIf you are a highly motivated and dynamic individual with a passion for librarianship, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
