Librarian

Librarian - English Speaking (Abu Dhabi, UAE)We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Librarian to join our team at a prestigious library in Abu Dhabi, UAE. As the Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing the library's collection of books, journals, and other materials.Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain a comprehensive library collection that meets the needs of our diverse community.- Organize and classify materials according to the appropriate library classification system.- Assist patrons with research and reference inquiries.- Develop and implement library programs for all age groups.- Train new staff members on library procedures and policies.- Keep accurate records of library transactions, including loans, returns, and overdue materials.- Maintain the physical appearance of the library by shelving books, arranging displays, and performing general upkeep tasks.- Stay up-to-date with advancements in library technology and make recommendations for implementing new systems or tools.Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a librarian.- Excellent communication skills in English.- Knowledge of current trends in libraries, including digital resources and online databases.- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.Preferred:- Experience working in a multicultural environment.- Familiarity with Arabic language is a plus.This is a full-time position with accommodation provided.
