Keep reading.</p><p>The Solution Engineer role will be spearheading the Operational design of all Quick Commerce facilities in the AMET Region. This role navigates between Real Estate, Network planning, Construction and Operations team, to deliver world‑class design solutions to address business requirement (cube, throughput) for the Quick commerce sites across UAE, KSA, EGY and more.</p><p>The Solution Engineer ensures flawless and efficient design development. They stay closely connected with upstream teams, contribute to "As built" drawings when not available from the landlord, deliver world‑class design following established Amazon Quick commerce tenets, and coordinate design reviews and approvals with downstream teams. They also keep track of the Quick Commerce depository, report on pre‑execution performance (SLA), participate in cross‑functional coordination meetings, provide status updates to leadership, identify risks related to pre‑execution and design, collect lessons learned and propose improvements to the quick commerce design tenets, and lead frugal automation initiatives to improve operational productivity.</p><p>Additionally, the Solution Engineer manages monthly communication on behalf of the wider Engineering Services Organization, providing progress updates and performance of the Quick Commerce portfolio to Senior leadership, in close collaboration with Construction team, and may support the execution of certain quick commerce projects at proximity to their base location. The role is autonomous, managing an entire portfolio and navigating design development of up to 10 sites in parallel.</p><p>Base location: Cairo. Expected travels within the AMET region, up to 10% per year.</p><p>Ability to speak multiple languages including French, German, Polish, Arabic, Portuguese, Turkish, Chinese (Mandarin), Afrikaans and Zulu are considered preferred qualifications.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Collect all necessary information from upstream teams (as built; cube and throughput requirements)</li><li>Contribute to the creation of "As built" drawings when not available from the landlord</li><li>Deliver world‑class design, following established Amazon Quick commerce tenets, with a focus on space optimization and providing creative solutions to accommodate real‑estate challenges</li><li>Coordinate design reviews and approvals with downstream teams</li><li>Keep track of the Quick Commerce depository, where all facilities are documented</li><li>Track and report on pre‑execution performance (SLA)</li><li>Participate in cross‑functional coordination meetings, provide status updates to leadership and call out risks related to pre‑execution and design</li><li>Collect lessons learned and propose improvements to the quick commerce design tenets</li><li>Propose and lead frugal automation initiatives to improve operational productivity</li><li>End‑to‑end ownership for large‑scale engineering projects (planning, design, procurement, installation, commissioning, qualification and launch support)</li><li>Dive deep on technical details and provide value engineering and innovative solutions to drive frugality and continuous improvements</li><li>Lead technical design reviews and propose design solutions for material handling and storage solutions that meet both business needs and internal standards</li><li>Create, submit and track relevant CAPEX requests to ensure that all projects are delivered within budget and achieve the best overall value</li><li>Assess and communicate project status, drive escalations on potential risks and delays across multiple teams</li><li>Own the budget for the scope of the project; give accurate updates and risk forecasts while gaining savings and ensuring quality and performance</li><li>Assist in providing equipment specifications and technical support to Procurement and Change Management</li><li>Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Construction, Operations, Reliability Maintenance Engineering, Procurement and Change Management</li><li>Responsible for contractor management and teams up to approximately 300 people on construction sites</li><li>Manage monthly communication on behalf of the wider Engineering Services Organization, providing progress updates and performance of the Quick Commerce portfolio to senior leadership</li><li>Support the execution of certain quick commerce projects at proximity to the base location</li></ul><h3>Basic Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, engineering technology or equivalent, or 5+ years of professional or military experience</li><li>Experience with logistic environment and/or
