ROLE PURPOSEThe Lead Process Design Engineer shall act as the Technical Authority for all process engineering activities related to the Instrument Air (IA) and Plant Air (PA) System Upgrade with primary focus on Air Compressors ensuring:Full compliance with ADNOC Offshore Process Engineering StandardsProtection of FEED & Design Basis integritySafe reliable and energy‑efficient operation of IA/PA systems on live offshore platformsIndependent Owners Engineer (OE)-level engineering governancePROCESS ENGINEERING DISCIPLINE SCOPE (IA/PA PROJECT)The scope includes but is not limited to:Instrument Air & Plant Air system designAir Compressor process sizing & selectionAir Dryers (Heatless / Heated)Air Receivers & Distribution HeadersFiltration & Moisture SeparationInterconnection with Utility & Control SystemsProcess Safeguarding & Overpressure ProtectionKEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES4.1 Process Technical Authority (Owners Engineer Role)Act as Lead Process Authority for:IA/PA system designCompressor process sizingAir quality & reliability requirementsEnforce compliance with:ADNOC CoPsAPI / ISO compressor & air treatment standardsProvide final technical approval on all process design deliverables4.2 Air Compressor & IA/PA System Process DesignPerform and review:Compressor sizing calculationsAir demand balance & peak load assessmentSystem pressure drop calculationsTurndown & redundancy philosophy (N1)Validate:IA vs PA segregationDryer sizing & moisture removal efficiencyAir quality class suitability for instruments4.3 Brownfield Integration & Offshore FeasibilityLead process engineering for:Tie‑ins to live IA/PA headersShutdown & operational constraintsTemporary air supply philosophy during changeoverReview:Laser scan & as‑built dataBrownfield modification method statementsSupport:SIMOPS planning & execution4.4 Process Safeguarding PSV & Safety StudiesLead process input for:HAZID / HAZOP / ENVIDRelieving scenarios & PSV sizingBlowdown & vent routing philosophyEnsure:All safeguarding recommendations are implemented in P&IDs & control logic4.5 Interfaces with Other DisciplinesCoordinate closely with:Rotating (compressors performance)Piping (headers drops pressure classes)Static (air receivers dryers)Electrical (motor power demand)I&C (control logic & interlocks)4.6 Construction & Commissioning SupportSupport:Pre‑commissioning of IA/PA systemsDryer changeover & air quality verificationPerformance testing of compressors & dryersProvide process acceptance for RFSU5. ADNOC-SPECIFIC OFFSHORE SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIESEnforce:ADNOC PTW requirementsSIMOPS safety for live system tie‑insOverpressure and stored energy hazard controlEnsure:Emergency blow‑off and venting are compliant6.
