Lead HSE Engineer

Emirates Electrical Engineering provides turnkey solutions for solar rooftops and turnkey electrical power projects such as High Voltage Substations, Cable Networks and Transmission Lines in the UAE.Job PurposeThe incumbent will ensure and coordinate health and safety measures for every project, including safety management during construction and equipment installation at the project site. They will lead the team of HSE Engineers/Officers, monitor health and safety requirements at site, and report findings to the Project Managers, Site Manager and Site Engineers.ResponsibilitiesSafety Management: Manage the team of HSE officers and engineers in projects; monitor safety management including first aid and welfare arrangements; coordinate safety objectives and establish HSE management procedures.Compliance and Government Relations: Ensure no restricted or prohibited substances are used at construction sites; liaise with governmental organizations, authorities and clients for HSE reporting, permits and approvals; issue safety regulations with contractors/suppliers and establish disciplinary rules and penalties for safety violations.Performance Tracking: Identify safety indicators, update dashboards, and report findings to the project team and company management; communicate safety policy and information on new sites; promote safety markings and display policy indicators and action plans.Induction and Training: Coordinate and deliver safety induction training on site; organize regular safety meetings with contractors; distribute safety-related articles to the project team and visitors according to rules.Safety Procedures Implementation: Develop risk analyses for each working position, establish action plans for immediate safety improvements, and run safety campaigns; organize safety communication and emergency action plans; monitor industrial hygiene and occupational medical checks.Inspection and Safety Review: Monitor near misses, incidents and accidents; participate in inspections and audits; develop corrective actions to mitigate risks.Reports and Project Review: Prepare weekly HSE flash reports and monthly project HSE reviews; support the project team with applicable safety experience.Job RequirementsQualificationsBachelor in Safety and/or Environmental Engineering or any Engineering discipline, or Diploma in Health and Safety from a recognized university.NEBOSH certification or NEBOSH Diploma.Any Master’s degree in environmental/safety engineering is preferred.ExperienceMinimum 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in the industry; 3 years of supervisory experience is desired; experience in a similar environment for at least 2 years is preferred.Knowledge & SkillsGood understanding of safety rules and regulations by authorities and clients; ability to prepare risk assessments.Assertive with strong communication and convincing skills.Proficiency with office software for reporting and communication.At Al Rostamani Group, we seek talented people who work hard to achieve great things.
