Position DetailsBU: EDRC – SolarWork Location: UAEJob Role: Design Lead – Solar (Electrical DC)Reports To: Section Head – Solar & Project Engineering Manager (PEM)Reportees: Design Engineer, Draughts PersonMinimum Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics EngineeringExperience: 10+ years (Must have experience in design aspects of Solar PV Power Plants / Power Distribution Projects)Languages: Russian & EnglishObjectiveThe Design Lead (Electrical – DC) shall be responsible for reviewing and executing engineering activities related to Solar PV Power Plants, including:Generation estimatesOverall plant layoutDC SLD preparationSolar module selectionInverter sizingSMB designEarthing layoutsCable sizing calculationsThe role includes facilitating BIM modellers in developing 3D BIM models for Solar PV plants and coordinating with multiple departments (Civil, Structural, Instrumentation, MEP, etc.) for inter‑disciplinary checks.The Design Lead supports engineering activities across the full project lifecycle—from pre‑bid engineering to commissioning and warranty support, including coordination with site teams.The individual will lead a team of Design Engineers and Draughts Persons, ensuring engineering delivery within budget, on schedule, and with high quality.Engineering & DocumentationReview documents prepared by the Engineering Office (India) and explain them to local contractors for site execution.Ensure timely delivery of engineering drawings and documents.Review drawings and sizing calculations prepared by Design Engineers and Draughts Persons.Review vendor engineering deliverables.Check deliverables such as:Cable routing layoutCable tray layoutEarthing layoutLightning protection layoutCoordination & CommunicationCoordinate with OEM engineers and civil contractors during installation and construction.Coordinate with Uzbekistan local consultants for design adaptation works.Coordinate with multiple disciplines for inter‑departmental checks.Provide support and clarifications to the Site Execution team.Coordinate with Operations team for design approvals.Collect project inputs (plot details, feeder arrangements, GA drawings) from clients, PEM, and vendors.Vendor & Procurement SupportConduct pre‑award vendor evaluations (technical compliance).Submit validation documents to Supply Chain Management.Inspect equipment from finalized vendors after validation.Clarify design‑related issues to the Site Execution team.Planning & ManagementEstimate and plan man‑hour requirements.Submit man‑hour requirements for design and drawing review activities.Review BOQ and provide technical clarifications to the Contracts team.Capable of multitasking and delivering multiple outputs on time.Technical ExpertiseThe Design Lead (Electrical DC) must possess:Solar PV Engineering KnowledgeStrong understanding of Solar PV Power Plant design.Expertise in:Generation estimationOverall plant layoutDC SLD preparationSolar module selectionInverter sizingSMB designEarthing layoutsCable sizing calculationsElectrical Design CompetenceKnowledge of national and international codes and standards.Understanding of interdisciplinary interfaces (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Instrumentation).Ability to interpret contractual technical requirements and support project teams accordingly.Operating NetworkInternalHead of EngineeringSection HeadsDesign EngineersDraughts PersonsOperations TeamSite Execution TeamSupply Chain Management TeamExternalClients (Engineering & Site Execution Teams)ConsultantsVendorsKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)On‑time deliveryProductivity enhancementDigitalizationRisk identification and mitigationCost controlQuality controlCustomer satisfactionLayout optimizationStandardization and elimination of inefficienciesValue engineering and innovationSoftware Skills RequiredDesirable: PVSYST, Meteonorm, SolarGIS, Google Earth, MS OfficeBehavioural AttributesMarket InsightForesightLeveraging opportunitiesCustomer at the CoreSustainable partnershipsAnticipating needsCustomer centricityDisruptive InnovationChallenge traditional approachesGenerate innovative solutionsTake calculated risksCollaborate & InfluenceInternal stakeholdersExternal stakeholdersAdditionalAs defined in the DC competencies for the respective tier#J-18808-Ljbffr
