Job Description

Job PurposeThe British Curriculum A Level Law / Sociology Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in Law and Sociology, enabling students to develop a strong understanding of legal principles, social structures, and civic responsibilities. The role supports the development of critical thinking, analytical skills, and awareness of local and international legal and social frameworks, in line with UAE educational standards and the school’s values.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in A Level Law and Sociology.Teach core legal concepts including constitutional law, criminal law, civil law, human rights, and legal systems (local and international).Deliver Sociology topics such as socialisation, culture, identity, inequality, institutions, and research methods (as applicable to the curriculum).Align lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessments with the British Curriculum and regulatory requirements.Develop students’ critical thinking, research, debate, and case‑analysis skills.Assess, record, and report on student progress using a range of formative and summative assessment strategies.Prepare students for internal and external examinations, coursework, and presentations.Integrate technology and innovative pedagogical approaches to enhance learning outcomes.Maintain accurate academic records and contribute to reporting cycles.Establish a positive learning environment with effective classroom management.Support students’ personal, moral, social, and cultural development in line with UAE values.Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school leadership regarding student progress and wellbeing.Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development, and curriculum planning.Contribute to enrichment activities such as debating clubs, Model UN, or legal awareness initiatives where appropriate.#J-18808-Ljbffr
