Prepares and maintains sketches maps reports and legal descriptions of surveys in order to describe certify and assume liability for work performedVerifies the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sitesDirects or conducts surveys in order to establish legal boundaries for properties based on legal deeds and titlesRecords the results of surveys including the shape contour location elevation and dimensions of land or land featuresCalculates heights depths relative positions property lines and other characteristics of terrainPrepares or supervises preparation of all data charts plots maps records and documents related to surveysWrites descriptions of property boundary surveys for use in deeds leases or other legal documentsPlans and conducts ground surveys designed to establish baselines elevations and other geodetic measurementsSearches legal records survey records and land titles in order to obtain information about property boundaries in areas to be surveyedCoordinates findings with the work of engineering and architectural personnel clients and others concerned with projectsAdjusts surveying instruments in order to maintain their accuracyEstablishes fixed points for use in making maps using geodetic and engineering instrumentsDetermines longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas using the odolites transits levels and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS)Trains assistants and helpers and direct their work in such activities as performing surveys or drafting mapsAnalyses survey objectives and specifications in order to prepare survey proposals or to direct others in survey proposal preparationComputes geodetic measurements and interpret survey data in order to determine positions shapes and elevations of geomorphic and topographic featuresDevelops criteria for survey methods and proceduresDevelops criteria for the design and modification of survey instrumentsConducts research in surveying and mapping methods using knowledge of techniques of photogrammetric map compilation and electronic data processingLocates and mark sites selected for geophysical prospecting activities such as efforts to locate petroleum or other mineral productsSurveys bodies of water in order to determine navigable channels and to secure data for construction of breakwaters piers and other marine structuresDirects aerial surveys of specified geographical areasPerforms other duties assigned by immediate superior as & when requiredRequirementsProficiency in Total Station and GPS (GNSS) operationSkilled in using Auto Level and TheodoliteExperience in topographic boundary and as-built surveysAbility to read and interpret engineering and structural drawingsProficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other drafting softwareMinimum 5 years experience in a similar position in Roads and Infrastructure projects Ability to perform in a high-pressure environment Strong English communication Skills Attention to details Open-minded and mature Sound judgment and pro-active attitude AutoCAD software usage, design knowledge in road, infrastructure, utilities & pipeline projects#J-18808-Ljbffr
