Role SummaryThe L1 Network Engineer will be responsible for implementation, configuration, and first‑line support of Cisco network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of enterprise networks under the guidance of senior engineers.Position:L1 Network Engineer (Cisco)Location:QatarExperience:3–4 years (Mandatory)Certification:CCNP (Mandatory)Key ResponsibilitiesImplement, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, and wireless devices as per project designs.Perform L1 support: monitor network health, respond to alerts, and resolve standard/low‑complexity incidents within SLA.Assist in rollout and migration activities for Cisco network solutions (VLANs, routing, ACLs, Qo S, VPN, etc.).Escalate complex issues to L2/L3, providing clear diagnostics, logs, and incident documentation.Maintain and update network documentation, diagrams, and configuration baselines.Support change implementation activities during maintenance windows, following change management procedures.Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely closure of network issues.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or related field.3–4 years hands‑on experience in implementing and supporting Cisco‑based enterprise networks (routing, switching, WLAN).CCNP (Enterprise/Service Provider or equivalent) – must be valid and current.Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLAN, STP, OSPF/EIGRP, NAT, ACLs, DHCP, DNS.Experience with Cisco IOS/IOS‑XE configuration and basic troubleshooting (show/debug commands).Exposure to network monitoring tools (Solar Winds, PRTG, Nagios or similar).Good communication and documentation skills, able to interact with end users and senior engineers.Preferred SkillsKnowledge of basic network security (firewalls, VPN, IPS).Familiarity with ITIL‑based incident and change management processes.Experience in working in 24x7 NOC/operations environment and shift‑based support.Skills: ccnp, vpn, ips, firewalls, vlan, stpi, nat, dhcp, solarwinds, change management, routing, switching, wlan
