Job Description

Role PurposeThis role exists to support the day-to-day dealing and fund-switch activity within the operations team. The Junior Dealing Officer will take ownership of routine and lower-risk dealing tasks, allowing the Senior Dealing Officer to focus on oversight, complex cases, platform/provider relationships, and process improvement.The role is hands-on, detail-driven, and suited to someone early in their career who wants to build a strong foundation in investment operations.Key ResponsibilitiesDealing & Fund Switch SupportPrepare and process fund switches and dealing instructions across supported platformsAssist with rebalances, model portfolio allocations, and bulk switch activityEnsure instructions are accurate, complete, and aligned with internal checklists and controlsTrack and follow up on pending trades and outstanding provider actionsOperational Accuracy & ControlsCarry out pre-submission checks on dealing requests and supporting documentationLog and update deal status accurately in internal systems and trackersEscalate discrepancies, errors, or unclear instructions to the Senior Dealing Officer promptlyMaintain clean audit trails and records for all activityProvider & Internal CoordinationLiaise with platforms and providers on straightforward dealing queriesWork closely with administrators, advisers, and case progression teams to resolve issuesSupport responses to dealing-related queries from internal stakeholdersLearning & DevelopmentBuild platform knowledge across key providers and jurisdictionsDevelop an understanding of model portfolios, dealing cycles, and operational riskGradually take on increased responsibility as competence and confidence growSkills & ExperienceEssentialStrong attention to detail and process disciplineComfortable working with numbers, instructions, and structured workflowsClear written and verbal communicationOrganised, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks at onceWillingness to learn and take feedbackDesirablePrevious experience in operations, administration, or financial services (not essential)Exposure to platforms, investments, or dealing processesGood Excel / systems confidencePersonal AttributesCalm under pressure and methodical in approachProactive and comfortable asking questions when unsureTakes pride in accuracy and doing things properlyTeam-oriented and supportive by natureWhy This Role ExistsThe dealing function has grown significantly, and this role is designed to add capacity and resilience.
