Job Description As an IT Support Engineer, your role is crucial in maintaining the health of the hardware, software, and network infrastructure of the company. Your primary focus will be on minimizing downtime through rapid incident response and proactive system optimization.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Troubleshooting & Technical Support:
- Diagnosing and resolving software glitches, hardware malfunctions, and bugs.
- Managing a ticketing system to prioritize urgent issues.
- Providing support through various channels like in-person, remote desktop tools, or phone.
- Hardware & Software Lifecycle:
- Provisioning new laptops, workstations, and mobile devices.
- Installing OS updates and enterprise software suites.
- Performing hardware repairs and coordinating warranty replacements.
- Network & Infrastructure Oversight:
- Ensuring connectivity to local Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and VPN.
- Basic troubleshooting of routers, switches, and access points.
- Managing peripherals like network printers, VOIP phones, and video conferencing equipment.
- User Access & Security:
- Managing user accounts via Active Directory or Okta.
- Ensuring security compliance with updated antivirus software and multi-factor authentication.
- Assisting with data recovery and file backups.
- Documentation & Training:
- Writing SOPs for the IT team.
- Creating guides for non-technical staff to encourage self-service.
**Essential Skills & Requirements:**
- **Operating Systems:** Windows 10/11, macOS, Windows Server, Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS).
- **Cloud/SaaS:** Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, AWS, Azure.
- **Soft Skills:** Patience, active listening, and the ability to explain complex tech in simple terms.
- **Certifications:** CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft 365 Certified, or ITIL Foundation.
