And that’s where you come in.Job Description:Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self‑motivated Interface & Integration Manager. The successful candidate will have solid experience in the rail industry, managing wayside installation design and routing cables along the track and within technical rooms. This position is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.Main Accountability:Manages or performs engineering work related to the planning, design, installation, and structural reliability of rail system projects.1. Interface Management GovernanceEstablish, implement, and maintain the Interface Management process across the full project lifecycle (tender, design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover).Define, identify, and manage internal, external, inter‑contract, and intra‑contract interfaces between all project stakeholders (civil works, systems, contractors, operators, utilities, third parties).Own and maintain the Interface Register, Interface Matrix, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs), ensuring timely updates and formal closure of interfaces.2. System Integration OversightLead and coordinate overall system integration activities, ensuring compatibility and alignment across subsystems, disciplines, and contractors.Ensure integration of new systems with existing and future infrastructure, meeting required levels of reliability, safety, performance, and operability.Supervise integration‑related design, construction, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with technical, safety, quality, schedule, and cost requirements.3. Stakeholder Coordination & CommunicationAct as the single point of coordination for interface and integration matters with the Client, Engineer, Operator, contractors, and third parties.Chair and coordinate interface meetings, technical workshops, and coordination reviews with subsystem leads and discipline managers.Ensure clear communication, documentation flow, and timely resolution of interface issues across all involved parties.4. Change & Risk ManagementManage interface‑related changes originating from design development, site conditions, or stakeholder requirements.Ensure impact assessments are conducted for changes affecting schedule, cost, design, safety, RAMS, and maintainability.Identify, assess, and mitigate interface and integration risks, escalating critical issues where required.5. Quality, Safety & ComplianceEnsure interface and integration activities comply with the Quality Management System, contract requirements, and applicable standards.Support safety, RAMS, and security objectives by coordinating with relevant specialists and ensuring interface risks are addressed in designs.Participate in design reviews and sign‑off ICDs at defined Design Control Points.6. Planning, Reporting & Performance MonitoringSupport the Project Manager and Engineering Director in planning, reviewing, and monitoring integration activities against project milestones.Prepare and issue interface and integration reports, progress updates, and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.Monitor interface resolution performance and ensure timely closure of interface actions.7. Resource & Team CoordinationCoordinate and guide Interface Coordinators, subsystem leads, and discipline teams on interface identification and resolution.Ensure engineering and interface resources are appropriately allocated in line with project needs and individual competencies.Thank you for your interest in Hitachi Rail.
