IGW Level 2 Network Engineer

<div><p>We are seeking a highly skilled<b>IGW Level 2 Network Engineer</b>to support the operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting of large-scale Service Provider (SP) Internet Gateway (IGW) and Core Routing&Switching (R&S) networks.</p><p>This role operates in a 24x7 shift-based Network Operations Center (NOC) environment and requires strong hands‑on technical expertise, operational discipline, and effective communication skills to maintain high availability and performance of mission‑critical network services.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><h3>Network Operations&Support</h3><ul><li>Provide Level 2 operational support for IGW and core network infrastructure in a 24x7 rotational shift environment.</li><li>Monitor network health, availability, capacity, and performance using Network Monitoring&Performance Management tools.</li><li>Perform advanced troubleshooting and incident resolution for routing, MPLS, and IGW‑related issues.</li><li>Act as the escalation point for Level 1 engineers and coordinate with Level 3 teams and vendors when required.</li><li>Ensure timely incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and resolution within SLA targets.</li></ul><p>Operate and support Cisco Service Provider and Data Center platforms, including:</p><h3>Responsibilities include:</h3><ul><li>Configuration, validation, and troubleshooting of production network devices.</li><li>Supporting upgrades, patches, and platform migrations.</li><li>Ensuring stability and performance optimization of deployed infrastructure.</li></ul><h3>Routing&MPLS Operations</h3><ul><li>Support and troubleshoot dynamic routing protocols:<ul><li>BGP</li><li>OSPF</li><li>IS-IS</li></ul></li><li>Operate and manage MPLS services, including:<ul><li>MP-BGP</li><li>L2VPN / L3VPN</li><li>Inter‑AS connectivity</li><li>QoS policies and traffic engineering</li></ul></li><li>Maintain stable and optimized traffic flow across IGW and core networks.</li><li>Investigate and resolve routing convergence, flapping, or performance issues.</li></ul><h3>Availability, Change&Operational Support</h3><ul><li>Support network availability management and proactive monitoring.</li><li>Participate in change implementation, migrations, and scheduled maintenance activities.</li><li>Conduct risk assessment and validation before and after changes.</li><li>Ensure compliance with operational procedures and change management processes.</li><li>Contribute to documentation updates and operational runbooks.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications&Experience</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, IT, or equivalent practical experience.</li><li>Minimum<b>5 years of hands‑on experience</b>in large‑scale Service Provider or enterprise core networks.</li><li>Strong practical experience in:<ul><li>Routing&Switching</li><li>Internet Gateway (IGW) operations</li><li>Experience working in a 24x7 NOC or operational environment.</li></ul></li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li></ul><h3>Preferred Skills</h3><ul><li>Experience performing network assessments and implementing infrastructure changes.</li><li>Hands‑on experience with Network Performance Management (NPM) tools.</li><li>Experience in large‑scale migrations and operational support environments.</li><li>Strong practical experience with<b>CCNP (Enterprise or Service Provider)</b>certification preferred.</li><li>ITIL knowledge is an advantage.</li><li>Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.</li><li>Ability to work effectively in a shift‑based operational environment.</li><li>Clear communication and strong teamwork mindset.</li><li>High sense of ownership and operational responsibility.</li><li>Ability to work under pressure in mission‑critical environments.</li><li>24x7 Network Operations Center (NOC) / Service Provider environment.</li><li>Rotational shifts including weekends and public holidays.</li></ul></div>#J-18808-Ljbffr
