Hydrant System Technician

<p>The Hydrant System Technician is a specialist maintenance technician responsible for the inspection, maintenance, testing, and repair of the airport's underground jet fuel hydrant distribution network. This system comprises the underground pipelines, hydrant pit valves, isolation valves, return lines, pressure control systems, and all associated above-ground hydrant pit infrastructure located at aircraft parking stands across the apron and gate areas.</p><p>Key responsibilities include performing scheduled and unscheduled inspections of hydrant pits and pit valves, conducting pressure testing and leak detection surveys, cleaning and servicing hydrant pit components, repairing or replacing defective valves and fittings, and supporting the commissioning and decommissioning of hydrant sections during maintenance or construction activities. The Hydrant System Technician also responds to emergency callouts related to hydrant system failures, leaks, or pressure anomalies and works closely with the Operations Supervisor to minimise disruption to aircraft fuelling operations.</p><p>This role requires a thorough understanding of the hydrant system's design, flow characteristics, and pressure management, as well as familiarity with JIG 2 standards, ATA Spec. 103, and relevant API pipeline standards (API 570, API 574). Work is performed in confined spaces, at ground level, and in all weather conditions.</p><p>Minimum Qualifications: Diploma or technical certificate in Mechanical or Pipeline Engineering. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in pipeline maintenance or aviation fuel hydrant systems. Confined space entry certification and relevant safety training required. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and piping schematics.</p>#J-18808-Ljbffr
