Job Description

The nursing team makes or breaks a veterinary clinic.

Not the marketing. Not the technology. Not even the vets. It’s the nurses who set the pace, hold the standard, and determine whether a clinic feels chaotic or calm. We’re looking for someone who knows this — and wants to build a nursing culture from the ground up.

A new veterinary group is launching across the UAE with a technology-first, client-obsessed approach to veterinary care — and ambitious plans for rapid expansion into the wider GCC, particularly KSA. This is a founding Head of Veterinary Nursing role — an opportunity to define nursing standards, build the team, and shape the clinical culture across an entire network of clinics.

The Role

This is a hands‑on leadership role. You’ll spend roughly 60% of your time in active clinical practice and 40% on leadership, training, and operational responsibilities. You won’t be managing from behind a desk — you’ll be the most experienced nurse on the floor, leading by example while building the systems and standards around you.

You’ll design and implement nursing protocols across every clinic in the network. You’ll recruit, train, and mentor veterinary nurses and technicians — building a team that delivers consistent, compassionate, high‑quality care regardless of which location a client walks into.

You’ll own the nursing department budget, manage staffing costs, and ensure the nursing function operates efficiently as we scale. You’ll work closely with the Veterinary Clinical Director to ensure nursing and clinical standards are fully aligned, and with the Practice Manager to ensure staffing, scheduling, and workflow run seamlessly. As we scale, every nurse in the network will look to you as the standard‑setter and the advocate for their profession.

Day to day, you’ll be:

Clinical (approx. 60%):

Assisting in surgeries — anaesthesia monitoring, patient preparation, surgical support, and post‑operative recovery

Running nurse‑led consultations where appropriate — post‑op checks, weight clinics, vaccination appointments, and chronic condition monitoring

Performing and processing in‑house diagnostics — blood work, urinalysis, cytology, and imaging preparation

Managing inpatient care — treatment administration, patient monitoring, and clinical record‑keeping

Triaging emergency and walk‑in cases alongside the veterinary team

Leadership (approx. 40%):

Designing and implementing nursing protocols, SOPs, and clinical care standards across all clinics

Recruiting, onboarding, and training new veterinary nurses and technicians

Running regular training sessions, skills assessments, and CPD planning for the nursing team

Managing the nursing roster, staffing ratios, and department budget

Conducting performance reviews and mentoring junior nurses toward career progression

Collaborating with the Clinical Director and Practice Manager on workflow, capacity planning, and quality improvement

This will suit you if:

You’re a qualified and experienced veterinary nurse (5+ years) with leadership or supervisory experience

You want to lead without stepping away from clinical work — you’re at your best when you’re still on the floor

You’ve built or significantly improved nursing standards in a previous practice

You believe veterinary nursing deserves more recognition, more autonomy, and better career paths — and you want to prove it

You’re a natural teacher who gets fulfilment from developing junior nurses into confident professionals

You’re comfortable with technology and excited to work with AI‑powered tools, digital patient records, and modern practice management systems

You’re capable of operating in a fast‑paced, high‑growth, entrepreneurial environment where things move quickly and you’re expected to lead, not wait

You’re based in the GCC, or you’re an exceptional international candidate open to relocation

What’s on offer

A founding nursing leadership role with genuine influence over clinical culture

Competitive salary reflective of the seniority and scope of this position

Equity participation through the company’s Long‑Term Incentive Plan (LTIP) — a share‑based equity programme for the right candidate

Relocation support for international candidates — visa sponsorship, housing assistance, and transition support

Technology and infrastructure that empowers nurses rather than burdening them with admin

The chance to work with a proven team that has already disrupted and scaled 50+ sites across the GCC

A clear career path from single‑site nursing lead to regional Head of Nursing as we scale across the UAE and into KSA

If you’ve ever wanted to define what great veterinary nursing looks like — not
