Job Description **Role Overview:**
As the Head of Vendor Management Practice Lead at HSBC, you will play a crucial role in establishing and running the central Vendor Management Practice/Office. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate closely with the GCIO business-aligned Vendor Management teams to set strategies and best practices. You will be instrumental in building and maintaining relationships with Procurement, ensuring SLA adherence, driving vendor performance, and negotiating contracts to deliver continuous improvements.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Build and maintain a strategic relationship with Procurement to improve processes and tools for the benefit of GCIO
- Establish and maintain the framework of processes, documentation, and artefacts for the central vendor management team
- Organize and conduct Vendor Management Community communications and events
- Allocate Vendor Sponsors and collaborate with them to drive value and relationships with designated Vendors
- Analyze and create measurements for SLA adherence and continuous improvement of Vendors' performance
- Drive value from strategic vendors and identify areas for contractual reviews and improvements
- Ensure renewals and pipeline management are aligned with long-term technical strategy
- Review existing contracts, identify contracting opportunities, and support exits and transitions
- Confirm contracts meet requirements and support approval briefings
- Chair Vendor Management and Governance meetings, and oversee vendor-related projects
**Qualifications Required:**
- Proven track record in technology vendor management within the financial services industry, preferably multinational banks
- Strong understanding of Technology operational management requirements for banks and the external regulatory environment
- Expertise in Third-party risk management lifecycle and regulatory landscape
- Experience in driving vendor performance and managing vendors across various contract types
- Ability to manage operational risks effectively and design contracts to meet business requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making
- Knowledge of HSBC Group's strategy, structures, and external environment
