Head of Investment

We are supporting a leading sovereign investment platform in Abu Dhabi on a senior hire within its hedge fund investment team.This is a senior role within a well-established team focused on macro, systematic and absolute return strategies. The remit is primarily to invest in external macro hedge funds, while also contributing to co-investments, strategy development and broader portfolio construction work.They are looking for someone with a strong fund of funds / hedge fund investing background, but this is not a pure allocator profile. The ideal candidate must also have real trading, risk-taking or risk allocation experience, with a genuine understanding of PnL, portfolio construction and hedge fund-style investing.ResponsibilitiesLead manager selection and due diligence across macro hedge funds and related absolute return strategiesEvaluate external managers across process, performance, risk, portfolio construction and PnL driversMonitor existing investments and make recommendations on sizing, retention and re-allocationHelp develop co-investment opportunities and contribute to internal strategy discussionsWork closely with senior stakeholders on portfolio construction and capital allocationSupport the continued growth of the team and investment platformCandidate Profile15+ years of experience across hedge funds, fund of funds, institutional investing or related buy-side rolesStrong experience investing in or allocating to macro hedge fundsMust also have a trading, investing or risk allocation background, whether in macro, equity long/short or a similar hedge fund environmentStrong understanding of PnL, risk and portfolio constructionA systematic or quantitative mindset would be highly valuedExposure to machine learning, advanced statistics or quantitative research would be a strong plusIdeally holds a PhD or similarly strong academic backgroundBank training earlier in the career would be preferredAdditional InformationBased in Abu DhabiCandidates should be willing to relocate, or already be based therePlease email a copy of your CV to for this role.#J-18808-Ljbffr
