Job Description
<div><h3><b>Responsibilities:</b></h3><ul><li>Construct a Development and Improvement Plan, defining short, medium, and long-term goals of the department using assessment data as well as KHDA/ADEK/MOE and Accreditation agencies reports.</li><li>Provide the administrative framework through which students and staff may function effectively.</li><li>Oversee the implementation and evaluation of the Development and Improvement Plan.</li><li>Prepare the department for internal and external school inspection and accreditation visits such as ADEK KHDA, NEASC-CIS, MOE, etc.</li><li>Identify professional development areas and needs.</li><li>Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to focus on the student’s strengths and weaknesses and outlines the steps necessary to ensure that lessons will help to improve priority areas.</li><li>Effectively manage student groups, while providing for a variety of learning styles, ability levels, and educational backgrounds.</li><li>Motivate students with enthusiastic, imaginative class activities.</li><li>Prepares, marks, and provides feedback to facilitate positive student development.</li><li>Evaluates, record, and report students’ progress and development through standardized assessment tools.</li><li>Provide feedback to parents on students' progress.</li><li>Revise resources and suggest additional and alternative resources to improve teaching and learning.</li><li>Lead new students’ admissions for SEN cases and arrange action plans accordingly.</li><li>Develop and monitor assessment procedures compatible with the school policy and statutory requirements.</li><li>Run appropriate assessments that are aligned with the curriculum, assessment criteria, and the school vision and mission.</li><li>Review and regularly monitor the effectiveness of assessment practice.</li><li>Provide advice and support to teachers on assessment strategies.</li><li>Follow up on the used assessment strategies in the classroom.</li><li>Work with the Principal/Vice Principal and Section Principals to prepare annual goals for the inclusion department. Conduct the teacher’s appraisal process.</li><li>Work with the principal and Section principal to identify appropriate professional development strategies and activities for the subject area as a whole and for individual teachers.</li><li>Provide support and advice to teachers relating to their classroom management strategies and professional tasks.</li><li>Liaise with SLT as necessary regarding reoccurring and severe behavior issues.</li><li>Deal positively and appropriately with referred discipline issues.</li></ul></div>#J-18808-Ljbffr
