Job Description
Job Description As a Financial Reporting Manager, you will lead a team of accountants and auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, oversee financial statement preparation, and foster strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders. Your key responsibilities will include:
- **Team Leadership & Development**:
- Supervise, monitor, and review the daily and periodic assignments of the reporting staff.
- Train staff on established and updated regulations and rules.
- Establish department and individual goals, prepare performance evaluations, and direct staff meetings.
- Manage the career development for all accountants through group and individual training.
- **Financial Reporting & Compliance**:
- Compile and provide guidance on various regulatory reports, such as Form PF and Form SLT.
- Contribute to a strong relationship with internal parties, clients, and audit firms.
- Support reporting and fund accounting duties during peak periods.
- Contribute to identifying, researching, and communicating recent authoritative pronouncements globally.
- **Client Relations & Strategy**:
- Write and/or review various reports related to engagements and prepare ad-hoc reports for clients upon request.
- Troubleshoot fund accounting and client issues.
- Understand engagement economics and manage budgets for individual engagements and projects.
- Recognize and communicate potential opportunities for new clients and value-added service enhancements for existing ones.
In terms of qualifications, you should have:
- Experience in managing a team of asset management accountants and/or auditors.
- Experience in asset management accounting in an Audit Firm, Hedge Fund, Hedge Fund Administrator, or other financial institution.
- Previous experience in financial statement or regulatory review and/or preparation.
- Exposure to complex fund structures, waterfall computation, and preferred return.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS is required.
- Strong knowledge of Regulatory Compliance requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of complex derivatives.
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- CPA, CFA, CA, or other professional designation is preferred.
- Good communication and writing skills.
- The ability to travel as necessary.
