Head of Accounting (UAE National)

We are supporting a leading UAE-based institution in the appointment of a Head of Accounting to oversee and manage all general accounting operations in accordance with UAE and International Accounting Standards, as well as internal policies and procedures.This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of the organisation’s financial records, while supporting statutory reporting, audit requirements, and strong financial governance frameworks.The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining high-quality financial controls, overseeing reporting processes, and ensuring alignment with regulatory and organisational standards.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the verification and review of expenditure documentation to ensure compliance with approved contracts, agreements, and internal policies prior to final approvalEnsure accurate recording and maintenance of all financial transactions in line with UAE and International Accounting StandardsManage receivables, accounts payable, and general ledger functions to maintain accurate and timely financial reportingLead month‑end and year‑end closing activities, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with applicable standardsOversee monthly reconciliation processes across general ledger and sub‑ledgers, investigating and resolving variancesManage fixed asset accounting, including asset additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation processesOversee capital expenditure accounting, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and proper financial treatmentSupport and coordinate internal and external audit processes, ensuring adherence to statutory requirements and internal proceduresCandidate Profile9‑12 years of relevant accounting experience within a regulated or structured environmentStrong knowledge of UAE and International Accounting StandardsProven experience managing general ledger, reconciliations, and financial close processesStrong understanding of financial governance, compliance, and audit supportProfessional certifications such as CMA, CPA, ACCA, ACA, CFA, or equivalent are preferredStrong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple prioritiesThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to lead a critical finance function within a respected UAE institution, contributing to strong financial governance and operational excellence.To apply or request further information, please submit your CV directly.Similar JobsCurrently, there are no related job opportunities available#J-18808-Ljbffr
