Head Engineering - Substation

Job Description Role Overview: As the Head - Engineering Substation-Tx at Adani Energy Solutions Limited, your primary responsibility will be to oversee all substation-related engineering functions to ensure operational efficiency and deliver safe, cost-effective, and compliant engineering solutions. You will lead the creation, review, and approval of engineering documentation while supporting Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and project teams to enhance substation reliability and performance. Key Responsibilities: - **Pre-Bid And Estimation Support:** - Collaborate with the pre-bid team to deliver accurate and compliant substation engineering documentation, drawings, and Bill of Quantities (BOQs). - Guide the estimation team in preparing detailed cost analyses and reliable estimates during pre-bid stages to ensure project proposals are competitive and financially sound. - Provide precise engineering inputs to enhance bid success and maintain alignment with cost-efficiency goals and project budget. - **Design And Optimization:** - Lead substation design activities to ensure high-quality design standards compliant with industry regulations and maintain alignment with project specifications. - Identify and implement design improvements to optimize substation layout, reduce material costs, and increase asset lifespan without compromising quality or safety. - Utilize advanced engineering software like ETAP and AutoCAD Electrical for precise and efficient substation design activities. - **Engineering And Execution:** - Integrate the latest engineering technologies to achieve operational reliability and ensure substation performance meets safety and compliance standards. - Provide robust technical support to O&M teams, conduct root cause analyses for system malfunctions, and implement proactive maintenance strategies to enhance substation reliability. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to expedite drawing approvals and ensure on-time project delivery. - **Technology And Innovation:** - Champion the use of advanced technologies to enhance engineering capabilities, streamline design processes, and improve project timelines. - Encourage the adoption of new technologies across teams and implement data-driven decision-making practices for performance tracking and predictive analytics. - Drive continuous innovation by benchmarking practices against industry leaders and integrating best practices to improve project quality and competitiveness. Qualifications Required: - **Educational Qualification:** - B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical or Civil Engineering. A Masters (M.E. / M. Tech.) degree is preferred. - **Work Experience:** - 10-15 years of experience in substation engineering. - Previous experience managing a team of engineers and implementing cost and reliability-focused engineering solutions. - In-depth knowledge of electrical distribution, substation design, and working with standards such as IS, IEEE, CBIP, CEA, IEC.
