Join us.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced GIS Manager to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As the GIS Manager, you will lead our geospatial initiatives, oversee GIS projects, and manage a team of GIS professionals. This role combines technical expertise with strong leadership skills to drive innovation and efficiency in our geospatial operations.Oversees management of regions\' GIS initiatives, GIS production, functionalities, troubleshooting, practices, and procedures.Provides expertise and guidance and is responsible for the quality of GIS deliverables developed.Performs in a lead capacity for model delivery and management.Determines methods and solutions for complex GIS mapping and selects the most efficient plan for implementation.Participates in budget/cost forecasting analysis in support of the management team.Supports the preparation of competitive technical and commercial proposals.Communicates project objectives, plans and status to the project team and management. Assists in the development of initial level of effort estimates necessary to cover all work within the proposed scope with minimal supervision.Continuously monitors, evaluates, and improves GIS delivery.Provides leadership in defining data types, relationships, constraints, and indexes for efficient querying and analysis.Monitors team assignments and productivity. Supports management with organizing staffing/resource assignments.Trains and develops team members including developing training plans, supervising and tracking training needs assessments, creating detailed training manuals and GIS tutorial videos, and provides advanced technical support and coaching in the use of GIS systems, software, and databases.Manages the spatial accuracy of data representations for reliable spatial analysis. Advances and confirms data completeness and validation for reliable spatial analysis and decision-making.Serves as a subject matter expert/primary contact to client(s) and agencies on all technical GIS matters.Generates detailed reports including key performance indicators (KPIs).Oversees the development of model builders and customized tools for streamlining geospatial tasksOversees the implementation and optimization of database design and administration processes. Manages databases to achieve accuracy and integrity of data.Oversees management and tracks progress of, task assignments, data management, preparation of data model structures, and data transformation.Oversees the definition of topology rules to enforce data integrity and accuracy.Maintains a risk-adverse approach while reviewing and proposing mitigation solutions.Collaborates with project teams for effective model integration.Performs in an advisory capacity to senior management on related work matters.QualificationsBachelor\'s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field; Master\'s degree preferred10+ years of experience in GIS-related roles, with a proven track record in team managementAdvanced proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS and QGISStrong knowledge of spatial analysis, cartography, and remote sensing techniquesExcellent project management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneouslyDemonstrated experience in geospatial data management and database administrationProficiency in programming languages relevant to GIS (e.g., Python, SQL)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detailExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teamsExperience in integrating GIS with other technologies (e.g., GPS, CAD, BIM)GIS Professional (GISP) certification preferredFamiliarity with local and regional geospatial data standards and regulationsAbility to work effectively in a multicultural environmentAdditional InformationAbout AECOMAECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
