Job Description As a Subsurface Data Management Specialist relocating to Saudi Arabia, you will play a crucial role in providing technical leadership and expertise in data management to support UR Subsurface operations. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical leadership and expertise in data management to support UR Subsurface operations.
- Assessing and implementing technical data strategies governing UR Subsurface data to ensure data security, quality, and accessibility.
- Collaborating with corporate stakeholders to gather user requirements and recommend data management solutions.
- Ensuring comprehensive metadata standards, business rules, and roles are maintained across all Unconventional Resources data domains.
- Developing and proposing data-related policies, overseeing their implementation, and managing risks associated with sensitive information.
- Leading complex data management projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and providing guidance on data quality assurance and control.
- Identifying areas for improvement in the data management environment, developing effective solutions, and mentoring young professional team members.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or IT (advanced degree preferred).
- 12-15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 10 years focused on upstream subsurface data management.
- Good understanding of upstream data types, data management functions, proficiency in SQL, and experience with oil and gas applications and enterprise systems.
- High level of knowledge in upstream domain data and the ability to develop and apply cross-disciplinary processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and projects simultaneously.
- Professional data management certification (such as CDMP) is highly desirable.
