Generalist Accountant

<div><p>Position will be responsible for receivables and payables processes, postings into Microsoft Business Central, maintaining income statement and balance sheet schedules and other accounting activities. It reports into the Finance Manager.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.</li><li>Perform general accounting duties such as monthly closes, reconciliations, and maintenance of the general ledger.</li><li>Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring timely payments to vendors and collection of receivables.</li><li>Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.</li><li>Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.</li><li>Coordinate with the Finance Manager in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and report variances.</li><li>Research, track, and resolve any accounting discrepancies and irregularities.</li><li>Assist with month-end and year-end close processes and annual financial statement audits.</li><li>Support tax (including VAT, withholding tax, and corporate income tax) and zakat filings and prepare schedules and supporting documentation as needed.</li><li>Identify process inefficiencies and provide recommendations for enhancing accounting operations.</li><li>Demonstrate basic knowledge of accounting principles and deliver accurate work.</li><li>Participate in and gain exposure to the implementation of process improvement activities.</li><li>Have finance, accounting, and business qualifications or related disciplines.</li><li>Proficiency with accounting and finance systems/software applications e.g., Excel and Dynamics 365 Business Central.</li><li>Knowledge of Internal Control concepts.</li><li>Be driven by a continual process improvement agenda, demonstrated through challenging and improving processes.</li><li>Be detail-oriented with strong analytical and financial skills supported by excellent interpersonal and communication skills.</li><li>Have experience operating in a diverse, multi-functional finance group across time zones (plus).</li><li>Be an independent worker and thinker with the ability to follow up on time-sensitive issues.</li><li>Be a team player with the ability to communicate effectively and develop good working relationships across multiple levels and organizational boundaries.</li></ul><h3>Benefits</h3><ul><li>Housing allowance</li><li>Transport allowance</li><li>Family health insurance</li><li>Excellent working environment for a reputable brand</li></ul></div>#J-18808-Ljbffr
