Join our global team to grow your expertise and develop innovative solutions that enable a prosperous and more sustainable society.</p><h3>About The Role</h3><p>Purpose of the Job: Responsible for the inspection activities required in the SASOS workshop.</p><h3>Main Duties Involved But Not Limited To</h3><ul><li>Bulk Strip and Detail Strip Inspection of Gas Turbines.</li><li>Provision of engine bulk strip and detailed defect reports.</li><li>Carry out stage inspections during engine build.</li><li>Controlling the workshop Control Order Files and support documentation.</li><li>Assisting the Company Quality Assurance representative in the absence of the supervisor.</li><li>Ensuring all measuring equipment in the workshop is approved calibrated and certified accordingly IAW the QMS manuals.</li><li>Development and revision of workshop procedures as and when required.</li><li>Sourcing suitable and effective alternatives to the OEM for required materials/repairs/overhauls.</li><li>Shipping and receipt of material to and from SASOS approved vendors.</li><li>Assist with in a timely manner the shipping and receipt of material to and from SASOS approved vendors. Progress and expedite all sub-con activity effectively.</li><li>Obtaining the most cost effective and minimum turn time for engine material requiring repair/overhaul/replacement.</li><li>Issuing of certificates of conformity for all materials being issued to and purchased by customers.</li><li>Assisting with shop floor fitting duties as designated by the Charge Hand or Operations Manager.</li><li>All other duties as relevant to the post and deemed reasonable by the Company.</li></ul><h3>Education Requirements (desirable)</h3><p>Minimum NC Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), preferably HNC Mech. Eng. Where formal qualifications are not held, suitable proven experience is essential.</p><h3>Job Experience</h3><p>Previous experience in a similar role.</p><h3>Knowledge Requirements (professional, Technical, Language, Safety)</h3><ul><li>Working knowledge of industrial gas turbines and/or power turbines and associated equipment.</li><li>Ability to understand and communicate illustrated parts catalogues.</li><li>Ability to understand engineering drawings.</li></ul><h3>What We Offer</h3><p>Sulzer is an equal opportunity employer.
