EGA's Grade 4 & 5 Math and Science Teacher plays a crucial role in developing students’ critical thinking, problem-solving, and inquiry skills through the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework. The teacher creates an engaging, hands-on learning environment that fosters conceptual understanding and real-world application of mathematics and science.Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum Implementation:Deliver inquiry-based Math and Science lessons aligned with the IB PYP framework, integrating transdisciplinary learning where applicable.Conceptual Understanding:Teach students core mathematical concepts (e.g., number sense, problem-solving, data analysis, geometry) and scientific inquiry (e.g., physical, life, and earth sciences).Hands-on Learning:Incorporate STEM activities, experiments, real-world applications, and technology to enhance student engagement.Assessment & Feedback:Use formative and summative assessments to track student progress, provide feedback, and guide instruction.Differentiation & Support:Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs, including EAL (English as an Additional Language) students.Classroom Environment:Foster a safe, collaborative, and inquiry-driven classroom where students take ownership of their learning.Technology Integration:Utilize educational technology, digital tools, and interactive resources to support learning.Collaboration & Communication:Work closely with colleagues, specialists, and parents to support student learning and well-being.Safeguarding & Well-being:Ensure student safety and well-being by adhering to school safeguarding policies.
